  Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry gives up crème de cassis, baked plums, blueberry compote, chocolate box, earth and aniseed scents on the nose with wafts of cedar chest and pencil lead. Full-bodied, firm and grainy, it is concentrated, very classy and multilayered with great energy and a long finish.

  The producer's Poetry Vineyard is steep and at a high-elevation for the appellation. The wine opens in tones of tar, tobacco and brooding black currant, with highlights of cedar, lavender and sage.
