As early as 1820, Ernest Busnel launched his eau-du-vie, apple brandy, now known as Calvados. In 1919 the distillery was built in Cormeilles, Normandy, making it one of the oldest Calvados distilleries still producing very high class Calvados Pays d'Auge AOC.
